Education
Dr. Wang graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in General Biology and continued to reinforce her knowledge at a post-baccalaureate program. After 11 dental school interviews and admission to her dream school University of the Pacific, she mentored many of her colleagues as a pre-dental advisor. After graduating from the nation’s only 3-year accelerated dental school program, she wanted to reinforce her dental knowledge and expand her skill set as a clinician. Dr. Wang went on to pursue an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at a community health center in Tucson, Arizona. Working with specialists and attending dentists, she performed complex dental procedures including molar root canal treatment, impacted third molar extractions, implant placement and bone replacement grafts for ridge preservation. In all that she does, Dr. Wang strives to provide patient-centered care in the most painless manner.
Why Endo?
Born with an enamel deficiency, Dr. Wang grew up shy because she was teased by other children for having yellow-looking teeth. She lacked the confidence to speak up in class or genuinely smile in pictures. After twenty-eight crowns, eighteen root canals and two apicoectomies, Dr. Wang was able to grow out of her childhood insecurities. Motivated by her own condition, Dr. Wang wanted to help others find their confidence by dedicating her life to dentistry. It was during the course of her post-doctoral residency training that she developed a love for endodontics. As she reflects on the countless memories of having a toothache and visiting the endodontist for relief, Dr. Wang is reminded of why endodontics is her calling.
Background and Hobbies
Dr. Wang was born in the Midwest but raised in Southern California. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys many hobbies. She discovered her love for dance at the age of 6 in ballet and has not stopped dancing since. She also enjoys snowboarding, kickboxing and cooking healthy. Giving back to the community is also important to her, so she spends time volunteering at local health clinics. In the past, she has traveled to Honduras and Cambodia with other dentists to provide oral health care and education in rural villages.
